we just got in now from NYC. our flight was delayed a few hours because of snow and fog. it is now almost 4:00 AM new york time, so we are just beattt. so tired. so glad to be off the airplane. so many weird smells.

it's pretty strange to think that just today we were walking around in the snow, hailing a taxi, going to Strand books, and getting breakfast in new york and now we are home in small, small seattle. it's like some magic portal.

anyways, love u guys. new york was amazing. keep your eyes peeled.

Demetri Martin was my favorite comedian from the time I was 13 to the last time I seriously re-evaluated my favorite comedians list, which was… Probably not since I was 13. There has not yet been a re-evaluation, only an evaluation. So if you look at my hypothetical personal resume of things I like, it will still say:

Good news everybody! He finally has his own show. The last I heard (probably a year or more ago) he was casting for a quirky sitcom thing, like Flight of the Conchords style in which his arch nemesis would be an 11 year-old. Clearly the show took a new direction, but it will probably still be great!

It starts February 11th at 10:30 on Comedy Central.

We're back!

It was a very productive few days. We managed to not even go too crazy cooped up all day! It's sounding amazing. Can't spill too many beans. Busy day. Stay cool.

Going to a Cabin in the Woods

Hello everyone. Here's a quick update on NPSH things and not BK, dogs in spider costumes, or shoes. We're doing a total "band" thing and going to a cabin in the woods somewhere in Washington state (can't say exactly--secret) to record demos for NPSH ALBUM 2. I know Glistening Pleasure hasn't even been out for 6 months yet, but we're getting a little jump on new songs while we have a smidgen of a break. We're going to be doing some real band bonding, shacked up 24 hours a day in a little cabin with no heat. All we will have is our recording gear and instruments and that is all we will do. Pretty exciting to see what comes out of it. There will be a lack of blog posts for maybe a week because there is no internet... unless we venture to a coffee shop with wifi somewhere within 50 miles. Please post any new memes that break on the internet in our comments so that we may be up on current culture when we come back.

This is an amazing Beach Boys song as covered live in the studio by Rivers Cuomo with a 5-piece acapella group. Holy snaps, that vocal melody in the verse makes my brain fry.

Los Angeles, meet L.A. Tigers

Since most of you at the L.A. show didn't know what we were talking about when we mentioned L.A. Tigers, here you are! It is (or was) on the corner of Venice and La Brea. Does anyone know if it is still there? L.A. Tigers is just what we need in these hard economic times. Hundreds of stuffed tigers, small to life-sized, some charming and docile, some ferocious and tongue-waging, all right out on the street corner. It literally looks like a tiger explosion. If this place still exists (I hope so!) you have to go check it out, if just for the LOL factor alone. Maybe all the tigers are now after-Christmas super sale priced? Who wants to bring home a giant stuffed tiger??

Just wanted to share this because it is one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands. It always manages to sound amazing playing from the speakers, but especially so now that it is January 1st. Feel good. This will be our year!
