LDN Day 3

Oct 13th, 2009 (London SoHo, The Den)

We got up earlish to go to an interview for a magazine and then did a quick photo shoot with them down by the Camden market right on the water. It was right after the interview that we found out about getting to open for Weezer for a secret myspace show (which still is blowing my mind that we actually did that). We got food and then headed over to The Den where we were playing our second show. We knew this was going to be kind of a weird show because the venue got change the week before. The venue itself was amazing though. There were trapezes, hanging hoops and a giant stripper pole in the middle of the floor. We were told that they periodically had Burlesque shows there and they used them for that. They got us a table at this spectacular restaurant where they paid for everything and there was no menu. They just brought down a bunch of food and didn't stop for a looooonnngg time. It started with pâté, muscles, and a spinach salad. Next was ribs, salmon, and cheesy potatoes. I’m sure there were a couple of other things in there but I can’t for the life of me remember what they were. The show wasn't as packed as the night before but it was still really fun. We decided to just go as balls to the wall as we could, literally. At one point, Shaun jump on to the wall and was hanging on the fabric that covered it. It was fucking awesome. After the show we got invited to go down and hang in the club which was right below where we were playing. Shaun, Brian and I all walked down there to see the entire club packed with people dancing. This was my first introduction to DubStep. It’s a mix of techno, reggee and hip-hop. I don’t really know how to describe it other than that but it’s awesome. It's not the type of thing i think i'd listen to while at home but it makes for some awesome dance party music.
