Dip Dip Dip Dipping

Hey guys. We are finally finished with mixing our album! I can't even telllll you how amazing it sounds. Just wait and see. IT WILL BLOW YR SOCKS! Mad love to the amazing Martin Feveyear and his band of assistant cronies William and Stuey-ooey-ooh. Here are a few candid shots from the studio.

That is the final mix of our album (pre-mastering) sitting on the board, in a highly overdone, extremely small depth of field photograph.

Here is David Price Superstar with his glasses that he sometimes wears, petting Argus, Martin's wonderful, huge dog. David is not sure if he should wear the glasses all the time, or if he should go with contaxxxx. Please VOTE for which optical option you prefer in the comments.

Shaun and Martin, snarky. It's been a long day...

The mix console here is from the 80s and when you finish a mix, a fun animated screen pops up. This is one of the normal screens, entitled "A Day at the Beach."

This the the ultra-rare screen that supposedly only pops up once a year, signifying a very special occasion and bestowing good luck and hit records on those who chance upon it. And guess, what!? WE chanced upon it! Good omen!

Here is the gang watching David play peggle. As you can see, he has just recieved an "EXTREME FEVER" meaning he won the level. There is a lot of downtime in the studio and Peggle keeps us sane. If you haven't already, I reccomend downloading Peggle. There is a free demo on the official website. Please DO NOT download Peggle if you wish to continue to have a social life. It's very addicting.

Here is a pic of the mix board. You can see tracks labeled for NPSH members Shaun, Claire, David, and Wind.

In other news, how about that LOST!?!? That was the craziest episode everr. It was so mindbendingly good! The NPSH crew gather'd round thee olde television projector to watch this week's episode, and boy did it knock our sock off. Yours too!? Yeah.

Big things are on the horizon, my friends, both in LOST and in NPSH. We'll keep you updated on the NPSH. The only question is: R U RDY 4 THIS JELLY!?!?!?

Stay Cool,
LUKE///NPSH

Recorder

This is a film Claire made. It is starring our good friends Brendan (Commander Slam Dunk) and Michael (who sometimes sells our merch and is cool). I think it's a funny lil film. These cats is cool.

I call this piece "Untitled"

SALUTATIONS from NPSH! We are in the studio. But not just any studio, we are at Jupiter Studios in Seattle! We are working with the great Martin Feveyear. It is our third day here and I think we are all enjoying ourselves. Martin has a dog named Argus. Now, we have met a lot of dogs in this business, and let me tell you, Argus is one of the best. He is very big. He is very quiet. He likes peanut butter. His last name is Fruitypants.

"We have been laying down some guitar and are starting to mix the songs. It's sounding great. " -Luke Smith
This is MARTIN.

This is SHAUN with FRIEND-o

Yesterday was a little holiday, maybe you've heard of it, Weezer's Sweet Sixteen! That's right, it was Weezer's sixteenth birthday. It was also Valentine's day, but Whatevs. I mean Happy Valentine's day everyone! But here's a fact: Pinkerton is my favorite album ever of all time. To celebrate, David listened to every Weezer album in his car while running errands and stuff. He has the UK release of the Green Album. We're not sure why.

Now I would like to let you in on a little band secret. You may be asking yourself how we made it through the long and grueling hours of recording and here is the answer to your queries: PEGGLE! Peggle is a computer game. A really great and addicting computer game. Basically there are two computers in the studio, one for music making and one for Peggle. I am the only certified Peggle master because I actually bought the game, but we're all getting pretty good at it. I am working towards my degree in Grand Peggle Mastery. You can download a trial version on THE INTERNET. We recommend it.

That is all. We love you. Thanks for cleaning up the streets,

Howdy Dudes!

Girls can be "dudes" too right? Let's pretend so.

David and I are in the studio right now doing technical stuff. It's long and boring, but very necessary. You know how it is. DO WORK, SON. We're getting so close.

Meanwhile, here I am on my computer looking at youtubes. Its like television for your computer, am I right!? It's great. I am so into this girl:

Her name is Lykke Li. I should give credit to Claire for finding her. This song is amazingly slick 'n' cool and I really dig her little moves. I guess she is from Sweden. Like that's any surprise these days.... so much good stuff is coming from there nowadays. I really wanna go to Sweden. And everywhere!

Stay fresh, my vegetables.

This is so Cool

Stevie and the Jackson 5! Check out those killer backgrounds. And the costumes! Man...

We we're recently messing around of the keyboard and found that you can play the bass in "I Want You Back" with the bass notes in our song "Bedroom Costume." Same key. Pretty cool.

In other news, we totally swear by this stuff:

If yr sicky it helps. If yr trying to sing it helps. It's so good.

We're getting really close to being done with the album! We start the mixing phase on Lincoln's birthday. GET READYYYY.

Love,

Hello FRIENDS!

Oh, hello. Hello friends of NPSH! Welcome to our new blog. We feel that myspace blogs are kind of a big deal. We can't post about say, what we had for lunch. And sometimes we have great things for lunch!

Right now we are in "The Studio" listening to I Wan'na Be Like You (The Monkey Song), like from the Jungle Book. We were discussing this apostrophe in 'wanna', which shows up in iTunes, and we think maybe it is necessary because wanna wasn't officially a word back then. Is it officially a word now? Spell check has no problem with it. We are all in agreement that the Jungle Book was a great movie.

We just finished another long day of recording. We're finally DONE WITH VOCALS!!! That's pretty big for us. We've put our heart, soul, blood, sweat, tears, and time into these songs and we are so excited to share them with all of you! Now we have moved on to the art of PERCUSSION. Yesterday we went to THE STORE and picked up a beautiful new tambourine and shaker.

That's pretty much what it looked like. Shopping.
We tried recording the tambourine in a few places, like old school in the bathroom. But we ended up doing it in our slick vocal booth. Here are some pictures of EXACTLY what that looked like!

In other news, Luke got new shoes and is "quite fond of them." In other EVEN MORE IMPORTANT news, the season premiere of LOST was last night! We are all avid fans. Last season we would watch together after band practice. Now we do it after recording! It was amazing. I made a cake and we wore dharma initiative paper pins. WE cAN HArDLY wAIT FOr NExT WEEK!

That about does it for tonight's round up with the NPSH camp, but one more final very important note: David is in the finals for Ikea's messiest closet competition! His closet is messier than the closets of many other applicants! It is my understanding that you can vote for David's closet if you go to the Seattle Ikea, and if he wins he gets money to spend on closet organizing supplies! What a treat! So if you happen to be at Ikea in the near future keep an eye out and VOTE FOR DAVID!

Much Love, Claire + NPSH
